Abstract

The aim of the study was the self-assessment by medical students of the level of IT competence and the identification of factors that influence this level. A survey of 52 2nd year students of the Faculty of Medicine was carried out. 42% of students plan to combine work as a medical practitioner and research. Self-assessment of competence in the field of information technology showed a good command of the search engines Google and Yandex, individual Microsoft Office applications, insufficient knowledge of Exell and Access. Abstract

The problem of lung damage during a viral infection with COVID-19 is very serious for the entire medical community, the increased number of patients required intensive care with mechanical ventilation has led to a shortage of specialists able to implement protective ventilation. With the aim of fast, high-quality and affordable training of specialists working in intensive care, and the development of unified approach to respiratory therapy for patients with COVID-19, the authors developed a program of additional training “Intensive therapy of complicated forms of coronavirus infection” with an integrated approach using simulation technologies. For the first time, the authors used a modified four-stage Peyton technique to form a complex skill — the selection of mechanical ventilation parameters within the framework of protective ventilation. Usage of the algorithmic medical language DRAGON for the program was developed. The implementation of the program enabled unified approach to the treatment and respiratory therapy, which led to the achievement of the zero mortality in one of the clinics.

Abstract

Privolzhskiy Research Medical University of the Health Care Ministry took part in the pilot project of the OSE station «Collection of complaints and anamnesis at the primary outpatient doctor’s appointment» in 2018-2019 years. Also from 2019 the communication competence assessment station was mandatory for all 6 majors undergoing primary specialized accreditation. Based on the results of the station’s assessment of communication skills in 2018-2019. Our University sees the need to introduce communication skills training programs into the educational process. Currently, teachers and students demonstrate a low level of interest in communication skills, in contrast to residents and doctors of primary retraining, which is demonstrated by the results obtained during accreditation. There are certain skills that cause difficulties for all those who took part in the accreditation.
