Areas of scientific interest and research

S.V. Shakhrai's practical, clinical, consultative, and scientific work covers a wide range of issues in modern surgery, proctology, vascular surgery, and laser surgery. Majors in general surgery, proctology, and ultrasound diagnostics. Author of 272 publications, including two monographs, 23 teaching aids, 17 instructions for treatment methods, 32 patents for inventions, and 39 certificates of innovation proposals.

Twice recipient of the Republican Prize for talented scientists.

Additional info

In 2008, developed a methodological, structural, and organizational concept for the operation of surgical departments during short-term hospital stays. He is a pioneer in the development of hospital-saving technologies in the Republic of Belarus, as well as the organization of surgical care in the "same-day surgery" and "short-term inpatient stay" modes. He is also the functional director of the city center for outpatient and minimally invasive surgery at the 11th City Clinical Hospital.

From 2017 to 2021 – Project Manager for the construction of the Simulation and Certification Center of the Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education.

Member of the Belarusian Association of Surgeons, member of the editorial board of the journal "Surgery Eastern Europe".
