Training in emergency care for pediatricians of outpatient clinics and children’s hospitals

Abstract
The article discusses the issues of training pediatricians with different medical experience working in institutions of different levels to provide emergency care to children.
88 pediatricians were trained, including 40 district pediatricians. 20 doctors had less than 5 years of work experience. Scenarios from the passport “Emergency medical care” and their own scenarios were used for simulation classes. The knowledge of the algorithm of examination in critical condition, the correctness of diagnosis, the ability to use medical equipment, the correctness of the appointment of treatment and team interaction were analyzed. Doctors from third-level hospitals, especially doctors from reception departments with practical experience, showed higher results. They knew more often than others, but ignored the inspection algorithm. The greatest problems in providing emergency care arose from district pediatricians who graduated from university more than 5 years ago. Thus, a differentiated approach is needed to develop scenarios for the education of pediatricians, depending on the place and length of service.
