"Instead of First Specialization": the role of elective classes in surgery in the career guidance of students

Abstract

The experience of an interdepartmental elective course in surgery, which combined the theoretical foundations, simulation training, training in WetLab conditions and work in a surgical clinic, is presented. Technical and organizational solutions are shown, their positive aspects and difficulties encountered are analyzed. Interdepartmental interaction in conducting elective courses can contribute to greater student interest in choosing the profession of a surgeon, effective mastering of topical issues of surgery and practical skills.
