Abstract

It is noted that a significant part of nosocomial infections are urinary tract infections associated with bladder catheterization. The paper analyzes scientific publications and methodological recommendations on manipulation techniques and indicates that when performed by one medical worker, it is possible to violate the sterility of gloves, infection of the periurethral zone, and the spread of infection through the urinary tract. The authors propose that two medical professionals (a doctor and an assistant) perform the manipulation and provide its algorithm. This will eliminate the violation of asepsis.
