Immersive Technologies as a Tool for Developing Competencies in Surgical Specialties

Abstract

The main trends in higher medical education are practice-oriented approach, problem-based approach, immersive technologies. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of using the virtual multidisciplinary clinic "Dimedus" when conducting classes on the subjects "Surgical diseases in children" and "Pediatric surgery" for students, as well as residents. For the first time in the Siberian State Medical University, practical classes were conducted using the clinic "Dimedus". The results of the study revealed a positive perception, benefit and effectiveness of classes using immersion technologies.
