Abstract

The article presents the experience of the Volga Research Medical University in organizing and holding the All-Russian Olympiad in the psychology of communication “Communicative competence from the perspective of modern medicine.” Students of medical and non-medical specialties, as well as young doctors, were invited to participate. Participants solved cases, situational problems, and analyzed videos filmed using a “simulation” patient. This mixed format made it possible to identify the main gaps in the knowledge of medical students; the experience of “non-medical” students revealed possible communication problems on the part of the patient.
